“In order for something to exist at all, the first thing it needs to be is imagined. The same way an architect envisions a building before he draws it, an artist envisions a picture before it is created. You could say that each thing you look at, is itself, a work of art because the first thing it had to be was imagined.” – Jennifer Fischer

Brian Sopke was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and has been an avid photographer since 1995. Brian primarily shoots photos using high-end Canon DSLR cameras and lenses, although he also employs a pair of Pentax K-1000 film cameras for shooting 35mm slides or print film.

When not shooting nature, Brian can often be found volunteering at a local railroad museum or with camera in hand, shooting vintage architecture or railroads. Favorite locations include the Columbia River Gorge and the Oregon Coast.
